The Scrapper Jacks

"The Scrapper Jacks" is a project lead by Jon Hickam and Tony Loverde. Both Jon and Tony cut their teeth playing high-energy acoustic music in the Denver punk scene at legendary clubs like The Lions Lair and The Bluebird Theater, Jon with the 32-20 Jug Band and Tony with Bonnie and the Beard. Since then they have both migrated to Colorado’s western slope to raise families, but continue to write songs and perform locally. In a true homage to "The Denver Sound" their music explores the gritty and dark side of Americana with elements of Eastern European folk music, country blues, punk, and old-timey. Tony plays acoustic guitar, suitcase foot percusion, and covers most of the vocal duties. Jon plays accordion, mandolin, electric guitar and also provides some vocals. Elliott Hickam plays bass for larger shows.
